Yes, I find the same thing.
You can go into the bar and find six guys being attended to and return an hour later and no-one is there. It's just a matter of luck as to whether you find the bar busy or not. Of course, the weekends are usually always busy, unless it's flanked by a holiday, and then, I suppose many people go out of Bangkok for the break, including maybe, some of the girls.

Before I changed my work schedules,I used to go to the Star of Light on week-days in the mornings between 9 and 10. This seemed to be a good, unhurried time. Also late at night was good, except that a lot of the choicest ladies were already out, having been bar-fined.
But if they only go for ST, then a lot of them return to the bar before it shuts down for the night. And there's your chance.
