Yes same one as I checked the phone number and they match. Looks like they have three in the city as they have three address's and phone#. I went to the first one.
The one I was in looked sort of like the pictures on that web page.
Zebra said it was considered one of the best discos in town.
Where the hell do you find all these links Ronnie? When the web site for the disco didn't work I tried searching to find it but got no where.
Most of this FR was written in Cambodia when I ate something and got sick for a few days. Didn't feel up to much so hit the internet shops and wrote the FR for Vietnam.
Less info out there about Vietnam then Cambodia so doubt I will write a FR about Cambodia. Also found Cambodia not as frustrating as Vietnam.
Although at the time the frustration drives you nuts it sure gives you lots of material to put in a FR.
Agree the moto's are terrible avoid at all cost if you can. They are a royal pain in the ass.

Monster? Was I that bad? OK don't answere but can you blame me after reading the FR. Guess there were a few nights of frustration in Cambodia also.
Ask them to forgive me I was drunk. Of course can't forget sitting with a girl on both of my sides and you with one. Then later I had none and you had three  Just not use to good girls 
Might just take you up on the offer to find Zebra. From what I have heard once out of Saigon unless you speak the language it gets even harder to pick up girls. Also I would guess even less girls speak English outside of Saigon
She would make a great guide as she spoke really good English

Bimmher, great FR and it's inspired me into organising a visit to Ho Chi Minh City in March. Did staff at the Thinh Vuong Hotel speak English and do guests have to be back inside by a certain time? You said the security guy sleeps at the door. You mentioned another hotel the Phuoc Loc. Were both these hotels close to the Sahara bar and the other one you mentioned. In another thread you gave a website address for Thinh Vuong Hotel or was it an email address. And I also wanted to clarify a couple of phone numbers. The Phuoc Loc Tho was 848 835 7058 but the Thinh Vuong was 82 11122 which is a lot less digits.

I have an advanced degree in Googleology -- also known as too much free time on my hands...Actually, in my search I came across this lengthy list of "best of" in HCMC:

Hi Dinkum91,
Never gave a number for the Luc Phuc hotel (I don't think) as I don't have one. It is not very good just really a short time hotel. It is located on the same street just accross from the one I did like the Thinh Vuong.
There are three numbers for the hotel I stayed in. Don't ask me how that fax number works just reading it from the card. As from the card.

Yes they spoke very good english. No problem comming back late. You don't have to be back by any time. They lock the doors but all you do is knock and wake up the guy on the cot with your girl in hand. They do ask for the girls ID.
I guess if she had non you could just cross the street and go to the crappy Luc Phuc hotel with the box of a couple hundred condoms they have as a check in gift.
Zebra was impressed with the hotel and how they call down before the girl leaves. She said it was because they care and don't want you to have any problems. I would assume her opinion would have some weight as she is in the Biz.
Never walked in a straight direction between the hotel and the Sahara bar so not sure. Took about 3-4 minutes by taxi to go to the hotel from the bar I got Zebra out off (beside the Sahara bar). I would guess you could walk it in 10-15 minutes.
I did find a few other hotels close to the Sahara bar that said they were ok with girls and they were closer. This hotel is more then a couple blocks from those bars but taxi's are very cheap. Don't know if they hold ID and call up to your room or not with the other hotels I checked out. I would doubt it as some didn't have a phone in the room.
I was paying $10 per night at the Red Sun. For the same kind of room but with a phone and elevator it would cost $15 at the Thinh Vuong Hotel. Also the room was a bit nicer but the same size as the Red Sun.
Surprised you are inspired to go as I almost couldn't wait to leave. On the other hand felt like just as I left I knew enough to really start to enjoy the place. Hope it takes you less time to get your feet wet then it did me.

Bimmher, thanks for the clarification. I sent an email yesterday to the Thinh Vuong Hotel but no reply as yet. Think I'll go ahead and book flights anyway. But if they speak English I might give them a call as well. Sounds like a nice place to stay.
I just enjoy other countries, cultures etc and a couple of years ago really enjoyed Hanoi, Halong Bay etc. I certainly appreciate the beauty of the Vietnamese women and if I get lucky, great, if not then I'm sure I will still enjoy myself. Again, thanks for the FR and the follow-up reply.
