Where can I buy wine for a good price in Bangkok?
I think it is expensive. Do they have wine in the bars or only beer and spirits. I like red wine of course.

They've got a few shops (new one on Sukhumvit in the new shopping complex at corner of Soi 3). They also supply to wine to the V9 restaurant at the top of the Sofitel on Silom and have a shop there too.

Tesco Lotus at Oh Nut also has a reasonable selection, mainly Aussie wines though - expect run of the mill stuff like Hardys or jacobs Creek.
Thailand isn't exactly renowned for it's own wine! but I can certainly recommend the local beer & whiskey... hic!

Villa Supermarket next to the UBC building at the entrance to soi 33 has a whole floor of wine upstairs. Very comprehensive selection. My father who is somewhat of a wine expert, was most amazed by some of the bottles he found up there.
Not cheap, large import duty bringing wine into Thailand.

Hum I suppose You are a french speaking personn so:
Ne surtout pas penser boire du vin, en particulier rouge, à Bangkok:
- hors de prix (surtout le vin français) que ce soit dans les restos français ou pas
- vins blancs etc..... chers aussi
La seule solution relativement économique c'est les vins australiens.

tops is okay.
villa sometimes has buy 2 get 3 promotions.
foodland is good as it is 24 hours airconditioned.
if you have a buddy who owns a restaurant, have a look at his wholesellers.
but sometimes above 3 have better deals.

Good ! I have no problem with the wines of Australia.Some of the white ones from New Zealand are good. Marlborough is superb ! I like the red from the Chile.
But to drink wine in bars ? Always they have mekhong, Singha, Santip and Heiniken.

Hum in bars I never found some (decent) wine
except at novotel lotus bar I got a nice australian white wine but 170 baths/glass......
Otherwise at a swiss restaurant I got a bottle of pinot gris
=> 1450 baths
The only other place I saw and drank some good 'white) wine is Hua hin.
Definetly, thailand has many qualities but is not renowned for its wines

Non! I am not looking for thai wines just wine to drink in the bar. Australian is good certainement Rosemont shiraz. It is a beauty. Expensive yes but what is this bath with the wine. Why should I want many baths with the wine? By gar Bizarre!
Hua hin is this the resort or a bar ? All Américains call this place HWAR HIN like so when the near pronounciation is HOO-AR HEEN or similar to HAW HEEN?
