Wanted to go to Corleone's tonight for dinner but it was closed. Alcohol is the key apparently to closure on holidays. Looked up the street and saw an Italian place right next to We4U bar; about 50 yds up from Corleone's. Looked at menu outside and we went in.
Can report the food to be very good. Three of us all pleased. Came to about 400THB/person including water, deserts n 10% service chg.
Also the other day stopped at the Mr Ben coffee shop right at the mouth of the soi on other side from Corley's. I ususally just get a choc drink for 60B, but this time tried the chicken pesto sandwich. WOW. So big I took half home. Big pieces of chicken, tasty pesto, 3-4 choices of bread. Excellent and with drink came to 109THB. Highly recommend !!!
And I am not a food person.

Finally ate at Corleone's yesterday.
My fish and chips was excellent; tasted like snapper and was delicious. Crust not hard like most F&C; more like a fish fillet.
Only minus was it took half an hour for the food to come.
Also repeated at Mr Ben near the corner of Soi 8 and Suk. Same sandwich was awful this time. Soggy bread and very little chicken. Guess it is hit and miss with who is on staff that day.

Tried Big Ben on Soi 8 last week. Great sandwich and it provided a nice change up from Subway. Recommend.
Later in the week a young lady called and wanted to meet me at the White House, also on Soi 8, for dinner. It is now called Det. 5. Ordered a Sea food Basket which was to have Fish, Squid, Clams, and Shrimp. It had no Clams and mostly Fish. French Fries were tasteless. I left most of my food and my lady friend did not eat her meal. The service was as bad as it gets. Told one of the Soi Zero bar owners re-located here. He may know how to run a bar but a restaurant does not seem to be his thing. I can only wish them lots of luck cause I will never darken their door again.
