I sure do like good food, and depending on the circumstance, price is not a problem,if you get my drifft. I'm from louisiana which means i'll eat just about anything. All these post are inlightning to say the least. One question; While in Chaing Mai I had dinner at a River side Bar & Grill type Place. There were many of them and I can't remember the name of the one I chose. It was street level when entering, and then it steped down two times on the river side. I even saw some of those Boat dinner tours loading and leaveing next to it. So what I want to know is there any places like that on the chao phry< sorry spell.???< there in BKK? Hit something simular in nong kai on the back side of the market, it was a long line of open air kind of like one long street vendor. It was cool. Any ideals on that River side question?

Hey Bigin, I thought that Bourbon Street in Washington Square did halfways decent Cajun, in case you ever get a hankering for that while you're in LOS. But don't expect it to quite live up to back home. Can't help you on Chiang Mai, though.

- all along the Chao phraya are "average" thai seafood restaurants, one not bad is over the bridge near Sanam Luang, tell the Taxi to stop immediately you've crossed, [ your now in "Pingaow" ] then go over to the footpath, and walk back a few hundred yards to the river- side. Mind you, I think most TGs, would prefer to go to "BOW GUNG POW" - very popular middle of the road class Sea food joint, any taxi will know it, on Ratchada road, plus plenty of choices, aircon at the front, out door with Dj behind that, or at the rear, go inside for live Country Music, -all serve the same, fresh seafood at reasonable price, -packed every night from about 11pm onwards - even possible to pick up some good sorts in there !

I visit Bourbon street every time i'm in LOS. If nothing eles is good there, they do have real andouli sausage that brings home back to my mouth. I usealy enjoy whatever I order, however I cook creole' better that a thai does(lol). T P E; Are those places river side,ie; next to the water? BOW GUNG POW That sounds familar, in relation to suhkumvit and toll road to airport area where is that place?

Tried the boat cruise near the beer sign and it was great. The bottle of wine (california) cost more than the food and cruise.....total was still less than $30US.
someone talked about Chaing Mai.....a restraunt called "good view" on the river is great. 5 ate with minimal drinks and it ran about $23. Also a German one (can't remember the name but the Thai girls are dressed like alps people....just doesn't work) is really quite good. Located on a side street near the Macdonalds on the street with all the nite vendors. Also near an outdoor eating area that has thai traditional dancers.

Hi!
I have to recommend THAI HOUSE TWO RESTAURANT, it's on Soi 5 above Foodland. Specially when I was on a cooking-class for week in the end of june. Nice restaurant and very good food. I had cooked most of it and then I have to eat all I made too. At least I tried a piece of it.
