Burrp !! and yes across the street right on Suk....by Soi 23 there is a seafood mall place where you can get dinner for less the 500 baht for 2. Tom Yumn Com is yummy good there too. Still go to Phuket for tha freshest day caught sea food. Go fishing and do a dinner trade with local restaurant for your fish.

I think it has been previous confirmed by many other. The Seafood place at Soi 24 is a rip off! OK, you were happy for the baht you paid, good on you. For the same amount of Baht I am happy a few more days with same quality, or even better, food. We all make our own choices though...

In comparision to good USA places prices and quality would of been well over $600 to $100 per head. But yes there are many Thai seafood markets namely the beach towns/ marinas/ docks/ dive boats where you'll always get better especially if you have good kitchen and sauces and spices.

Newsflash: (1) We're not talking about the USA. (2) In US restaurants, those prices are rip-offs as well. Harry

All, Had dinner at Seafood Palace some weeks ago. Yes, the place is quite pricey but if you can afford it, well. For me, I went there for the experience of picking out fresh seafood for myself and then requesting how to have it cooked, as much as having a good dinner. For this you have to consider how deep you pockets are, and how much you're willing to spend. YMMV. Myself, I'm not going back there again, but the food was good. I heard there's also another seafood restaurant thereabouts, around Soi 22 or 26. More conventional style (sit down and order from menu) and much cheaper, but just as good I heard. Perhaps some other forum bros who are longer-term resident of BKK, can give dance42001 some pointers?

Stray Gypsie, I have no problem with the quality of the food, the price of the food, even the price of cooking the food at Seafood Palace. What really burns my butt is the pissy nickel and diming you get for charges for towels, ice, opening wine purchased at the establishment fees. etc. The finest and priciest restaurants around the world generally know there are better ways to make money and keep the clientele. Seafood 24 is only looking to rip off falangs and Japanese and that IMHO, blows. They're charges are just an insult and it's so blatant, it seems they defy anyone to catch them and call them on it.
