There are a lot of good seafood restaurants along the river. One I like, tho I liked it better before they went upscale is Bua .. located on Phra Ram 3 in the base of a high rise... good food and reasonable prices .. Then if you go over to near the "fort" on the river, there are several outdoor places and all of them have good food.. just stay away from River City as it is pricy and the food is no better (if not a bit worse??)

In BKK probably Seafood Palace on Suk Soi 14 area. Paid dearly though on bro's b-day party in May. But 6 of us ate like kings and queens with a Thai show and music going on small stage. Had many various drinks from cocktales, wine-beers, champaine, to a great Irish coffee at end. We picked 2 largest lobsters, had oysters, prawns, and sea bass along with our rice, noodles, and veggies. Everything was great for a 4 star restuarant and compared to US prices it was medium at $80 per person with all out food and drinking for 3 hours 8-11pm. Oink Oink Buruurrp ! Yummy good * )

Does anbody know where this place is? I saw it on the Cook's Tour program where he went in a huge restaurant with open kitchen and he picked out all the seafood he wanted and then they cooked and served them to him right there at the table. I assume it is in BKK somewhere. Any idea guys?

There is a seafood restaurant in Nailert which is on the same street as Pantip Plaza which is called Dragon Seafood. This place is very reasonable and you can also bargain for the prices. Their lobsters are priced at 800bt for a kilo compared to Phuket at 110-220bt per kilo. they have all kinds of live seafood in tanks as well as shark fin soup. Check it out. I was just there last week.

You pretty much described a lot of the restaurants in Thailand. I remember seeing that episode, but you will have no problems finding that place or better ones when you go...

My friend and I ate at the Seafood Palace at Soi 14 (near the Asok BTS station) last November. The food was good but I think it's over priced for BKK. It's definitely a tourist trap. Our bill came to around 7000 baht. It's a good price if it was in the U.S.
