... maybe a few dishes I'd like to see that are not on offer (eggs migas, huevos rancheros, cabrito), but what they do, they do right... I think there is but one other Mexican food joint in Thailand that rises to this standard (Miguel's Cafe in Chiang Mai).

Miguel's Café ?
I lived in CM for the entire year of 2006 & don't recall hearing or seeing this place.
I looked them up on their website :

but all it says is 89 Plaza, never heard of that
ah, here's more detail on their locations :

must be opened since 2006 is all I can guess. I would have definitely been seeking out a place like this

... I recall the original owner is from San Diego, where he had a history running Mexican food joints (yeah, it's California Mex)... did a great job... he got it opened, operating, stabilized, then sold it to a Scan.
... I returned after the ownership change, fearing the worst... after all, what the heck do Scans know about Mexican food?... probably very little, right?
... turns out, what THIS Scan DOES know is about good business, and knowing not to mess with the secret formula that made it such an attractive investment to begin with (ah, note to new Eden owner)... he'd stayed true to the original owner's vision and was doing quite well.
... suggest Miguel's Cafe to anyone who starts sweating for a proper Mexican fix when they are up in Chiang Mai.

As far as mexican restaurants go in Thailand, my personal favorite is "The Blue Parrot" in Pattaya. It's two soi's before walking street

Rather than turning left into Los Cabros, one should turn right there is a very popular Farang Thai eatery on the corner
Why so...am I missing something?
The massage shop opposite is my hang-over hangout. Managed to rack up 900Bt in a single sitting. Rather hard to do....foot massage, head/neck, peti, mani, toe nails, blah blah...anything to take the pain away
The Japanese girls next to me were impressed a guy was having a facial (the legit kind)

As a person who is a native of the Republic of Texas, I can tell you that the idea that there is any authentic Mexican Food (Mex Mex, Tex Mex, Cal Mex, etc) in LOS is absurd. Some of it may be edible, but not authentic, and only barely passable. I am not exactly sure why that is, but I assume it has something to do with the lack of Mexican expats in LOS.
This is another thread that should be closed down, else the FBI claim it is pornographic.

I like Kevin, owner of Blue Parrot, but I would give his place a miss if I can go to Moonshine & get better
