... while I do love oysters, I am not an authority, so will tread lightly here to avoid being dragged into the deep end of the estuary.
... I was raised on US Gulf Coast oysters... wild, not domesticated, as are most US East and West Coast varieties... Blue Points... small, sweet, plump... used to buy them off the docks by the gallon, freshly shucked within the hour... and I love 'em... ice cold beer... saltine crackers... raw oysters... that's it.
... but, Louisiana oysters are not from the colder waters that oyster purists tout as necessary environment... try them all, comingtobkk, and decide for yourself.
... I think you are going to like this... a lot.

Best I have had were in Wellington New Zealand taken from south Island main from a natural bed in the straits-
Really - everyone has opinions -

No I haven't tried them at that establishment, just trying help out.
I love oysters and you know where I live mate, I can get them any time for free just have to go and pick.
Years ago a friend of mine picked four buckets full and we had a pig out!
I know why there call them Oysters Killpatrick
They nearly Killed Gregory!
Next day the stomach pains started about 5am, man I was sick and swore I'd never eat them again!
I was going at both ends Ouch!
Doesn't matter where there from you get one that's been in the sun etc and you'll be pissing out your ring (shiting like a duck )
And it would spoil the members Trip yeah.
After all that's what this site is about info and a bit of a joke, but sadly some don't understand the Aussie humor or layed back way of life.

Clarification needed.....
Hoi Tod as I have read on some websites translates into Oyster Omelette, while other sites mention it as Mussels Omelette!
Is Hoi Tod made from Oysters or Mussels????
I enjoyed eating the fisherman's pot of mussels at the seven seas (???) on soi 4. But those are mussels! Must.... have..... genuine..... oysters!
