I think you have a laugh no? I have checked the dictionary Berlitz = hua, Hugo = hoo-a,Robertsons (r) hoo-uh!, The French one 'The Main Thai' = /hua. With accent over the u and / denote the rising tone. All these dictionaries are available at King Power at Don Muang airport. The Robertson dictionary was recommended by my Thai (Khon Thai) teacher as being good for pronunciation.
Hua hin = Head rock.
So where is this "Hooo Waaah Hin?"
I think you have the laugh. Or you only speak with bar girls with no education.

was this about wine?
i like red wine, and I bring my bottle (that I buy in carrefour, or big c,....) inside the bar, unopened, and I ask the mamasan to charge me an opening price (200 till 400 baht) so, then I can drink it in the bar
i never did in gogo, but in beerbar, is ok
(i only can drink red wine, because of heartproblem, beer and whisky is not allowed for my health)

Boys!! What happened to this thread " huaiiiihuuiaaaiiiii huuiiiiii", wherever U're from it's starting to sound tyrolean in here...
Anyway while V9 is rather pricey by BKK standards it's a very good deal for wines by the bottle, especially they won't charge U the ++ on those.
Plus there's a wide choice and a cool view.
Food's mostly a fusion mess still but the mediterranean buffet a few floors below is usually quite nice, with themes moving around all mediterranean countries.

Went tonight again to V9, prices for the wines I have an idea of are a bit above what U'll pay in France in a upmarket retaurants; Cotes Rotie 2000, 4000bahts, I passed. Settled for a Chateauneuf du Papes 2000 for 2300. Was OK, especially that if I remember properly last time I went there I ordered the same bottle and gave it back to the thai sommelier after tasting. He seemed convinced wine was OK, and who knows... might have been right : (
Now I forgot totally I had to bring a couple of bottles of good wine from France to a thai guy I'll see this WE, but no much mood to pay around twice the price : ( what to do??
