Yesterday, I took an angel of perplexing elegance to Shin Daikoku. On Soi 19.
Exquisite Japanese food in a spaciously designed, traditional Japanese restaurant. The interior alone is worth visit. We had the Sushi combo, the salmon teriyaki and two bottles of sake. The service, the food and the ambiance were impeccable.

I think it is part of the Fuji or one of the other large chains, but the upmarket part of the chain - there is another location in President Arcade behind INtercon and a few other places.
Agree - good quality Japanese food. Around Soi 31 - 39 there are quite a few good Japanese restaurants worth trying, my Japanese "friend" recommends them and I go... another quite good one is a food center are similar to H1 only old and for Japanese somewhere between Soi 39 and Thong Lor - you would know it probably since you are a local in those parts from all your night life right?!!!!
I will check out the Soi 19 one, sounds good.

Probably you are talking about Uomasa, Thonglor, Soi 13.
