I was watching Rick Steins Far Eastern Odessy TV programme in the UK the other evening and he visited several food places in Bangkok.
One restaurant that looked worth a visit was called Poj Spa Kar, a small restaurant with Royal memorabilia etc
The specialist dish seems to be Fried Chicken Green Curry.
Any BMs know where the restaurant is or any further info?

Apparently Bangkok's oldest restaurant, Poj Spa Kar (pronounced phote sapaa kahn) still prepares dishes following former palace recipes. Try the delicious lemongrass omelet.

I was looking for the more discerning input from bkktf, rather than the universally accepted internet search engines.
Unforunately I have to wait until November before I can sample the delights of Bangers again.

Gus, Bamboo is still doing okay, though I don't hang out in the bar these days. Beers are only 50B during happy hours 7-9 pm.

last time I was in Bamboo it was pretty smokey and over run by guys from over the road.
I bought the Rick Stein book today, a quick scan shows he visited, Or Tor Kor market, Ghost gate Mahachai Road, and he was very impressed by the Thara Thong restaurant at the Royal Orchid Sheraton.
