Funny man......alcohol and ambien dont mix well...

An old GF of mine, that is still a good friend, told me when I first started taking Ambien.....

"If you have been drinking, Just go to bed right after you take it...even if you are not tired.....just go to bed or you car will be in the lake (in my neighborhood) and you will be gasping for air and will not know how the f*** you got there!"

Funny stuff...but true...mix that shit with alcohol and lights out.....

regarding long flights, I really dont mind them especially with the TV's on the seats in front of you these days....

but am I the only one that ankles and feet swell up pretty bad on the 19 or so hour flight???????

Have a flight attendant neighbor who flies LA to London, a passenger (90lb Russian girl) who took ambien started drinking wine, soon into the flight she went beserk, kicking one attendant biting another, while running and screaming up and down the aisle, the purser plastic cuffed her which she broke free, went into the bathroom broke the soap dispenser off the wall and drank it, finally some real cuffs where applied and she 'departed' in Bangor Maine before continuing to London

Googled L.A. sleep Dr.'s, I'll get a script of something before I fly to BKK again, 'no wine'

Alt, my feet and ankles swell also, my tight ass Dr told me it's perfectly normal

Anybody heard of a downer sold in OZ called a 'football'

Edit in, WJ, BK took care of my multiply posts (again)

may I offer a few spelling corrections for those who plan to ask a doctor for prescriptions... ?

Ativan...Xanax.. Tramadol..

I thought visitingbkk was a health professional until he misspelled 'Adavan' twice.

ankles swelling during flights is normal...
it might help if you cut down on your salt a few days before your flight...

don't drink alcohol if you take Ambien unless you like new and different experiences and don't want to remember them for a few days...

LOL. He meant Ativan? I actually thought he was talking about something I didn't know.

Forgive me... Adavan is a common (mis) spelling for Ativan. Most (clearly not all) are smart enough to know. Kinda like Ratchadamri/Rajdamri....whatever works for you.

As Autosweep referred to it that way (and since any doctor will know exactly what it is) it seemed neither here-nor-there.

I will certainly refrain from further comments other than to be clear that I never said I was a health professional... I am just a seasoned consumer.

Most (clearly not all) are smart enough to know the right name of the drugs they take.

Common (mis) spelling? I didn't knou such mizspellings of de names of medisines vere so common. Uell, aktuali you ar riht, yes mispelins ar common for dose wiz a poor educasion. The rest tend to commonly spel riht, and okazionaly (wich means dat is not so common) mispel.

seasoned consumer = drug seeker...?
- jus' joking..

in my experience, when you go to see your doctor for a specific request, it pays to know what you want and what you are talking about.

too many medication errors are a result of missppellinng, miscommunicacation, and poor penmanship. buyer beware.

I recommend taking an extremely strong laxative about an hour before your flight. Take both an oral dosage AND a suppository, to ensure that the pressure within your rectum has hurricane strength and persists for many hours.

Suddenly, your anxiety about flying will be a distinct second to your catastrophic gastrointestinal problems. Who has time to worry about a "sudden loss in cabin pressure" when you have a nuclear increase in rectal pressure?

By the time you arrive in Bangkok, you'll hardly know you flew across the planet.

Sometimes distraction is the better medicine.

Yet, even if you tell them, there's always a handful of assholes that just have to drink down their 2-3 Ambien with some hard liquor. It's just a matter of time from that point onwards...

A chick that visited in Thailand once, despite her 'holistic' outlook on life, just needed to pop her Ambien (2-3) and wash them down with hard liquors. Fortunately I wasn't on that flight, but my buddy who was swore to *NEVER* fly with her, ever again, on the same plane, or even within the same hemisphere.

You know how the saying goes "Instant asshole, just ass alcohol?" Well, Ambien is an accelerant in that mix...

Aspirin. Take one Aspiring 20 minutes before take-off, and subsequently 1/4 tablet every 4-5 hours. You could also try ibuprofen, 400mg (2 x 200mg tablets), if Aspirin doesn't agree with you, but I would stick to Aspirin, unless you have a medical condition that precludes it.

Oh, never mind, Aspirin and Alcohol don't mix well either - stomach bleeding if overdone, so probably not a good suggestion for this crowd of lushes...
