Is it possible to get an up to date list of good, honest, reliable lawyers in Bkk on here ? I've seen a few in Bangkok Post classified section, also by surfing online but there's nothing like hearing it from people who've been through the mill already. My requirements are primarily work permit & business related so if some of you guys can name names regarding good lawyers it would be very much appreciated. I looked through the strings already but some of them were quite old.

They are Thai lawyers with a westernized anglo-saxon approach. I know them as one of the partners was my former neighbor/landlord (and now neighbor/landlord of a member that is often inTOXICated).
In foreign countries, I always prefer local lawyers that have an international style, rather than expat lawyers that charge exorbitant fees just by virtue of being foreigners and relying on the premise of "we are a foreigner like you, thus we understand you".
Check the client list of FBLP and you will get an idea.

Allen & Overy located in Sindhorn Bldg on Wireless. They are high priced, international firm but staffed with falangs and thais.

Allen & Overy do mostly commercial work. They will have English speakers on the payroll. This link is to a list that is published by the Thai Embassy in London, and the website says the list was provided to them by the Thai Consulate in Bangkok:

Next to the Thai embassy, of course. But most likely it was meant to read British consulate.
Allen & Overy do commercial work and as this was a question regarding work permits and business related issues, I thought they would be appropriate.

I thought I was repeating what was said on the Thai Embassy (London) website, but on re-reading it I see what the Embassy (London) website says is:
"...this list is provided by the Consulate in Bangkok..."
Stupidly I read that as Thai Consulate in Bangkok.
It cannot mean the British Consulate in Bangkok as Britain has an Embassy in Bangkok. Embassies are found in capital cities; Consulates are found in cities that are not capitals.
In Thailand, Britain has an Embassy in Bangkok and a Consulate in Chiang Mai according to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website. That is my understanding anyway.
So who knows what the f*ck the Thais mean on their London Embassy website when they say the info was provided by the Consulate in Bangkok? Obviously not me. Hope the list was helpful anyway.
(Edit - Jack, you could be right that the Thai Embassy website in London meant to say that the info was provided by the British Embassy in Bangkok - but would the Thai Embassy London really use the British Embassy BKK for information about legal firms operating in BKK? What gives the British Embassy more inside info on these firms than the Thai authorities that authorise these firms to operate in Thailand? So, although it is info posted in the UK by the Thai Embassy London website, I suspect it is just another one of those 'LOS this is Thailand' things that we should just smile about  ).
Jack - yes A&O do commercial work; but my understanding is that is commercial as in Merger and Acquisition work, company pension scheme takeovers, etc. Major league commercial, rather than help with work permits for "one man and his dog" enterprises. Apologies to StueyB if I have underestimated the size of his company.
A&O no doubt still could help with work permits etc as they are bound to have experience of helping expats for the major international firms that will be clients of theirs, but their advice probably comes at a tidy price. (Edit - which you did say Jack, so full credit to you).
No big deal anyway - we are all just trying to help one another on this forum. Regards all.
