There's another bit bothering me about glory holes. If it's all about penetrating a wall first before entering an unknown orifice on the unseen side, the question that immediately presents itself is how thick -- or thin -- would the wall have to be in order to leave a fair length free at the other end for the giver of the gbj to take in. I was just checking with a civil engineer and he assured me that a wall in any construction is a minimum of 6 inches thick. Add cement plasters on both sides and the thickness could increase to 9 inches.
Now this really arouses -- my curiosity, I mean. Such a wall would preclude most Asians from the capability of even coming out at the other end. Ergo, glory hole places were never built in Asia.

In seriousness, I thought GHs were those holes you see burrowed in the walls of men's public toilets. ie walls/partitions about half an inch thick. The ones you have to stuff bog paper in to stop any would be peepers having a look at your pecker?

This thread reminds me of what my grandmother used to tell me when I was a child.
When walking beside a wooden fence she would warn me never to look through any of the knot-holes as one was never sure about what might poke you in the eye.
Maybe she was an expeienced woman in a unique and personal way.
And yes, I do agree with AP that there seems to some guys on this board who just use it to off-load their own personal shit onto others.

Thanks for the enlightenment. I was all perplexed silly about this conundrum. A sheet of plywood strikes me as fraught with risk. Shreds and poky fibers jutting out can cause discomfort to a degree that could overwhelm / negate any pleasure that might be imported from the other side of the plywood. I suspect Joe Wood's granny was more down-to-earth than it struck him then (What eye was she referring to Joe ?).
I remember a couple of years back in that cluster of bars on Asoke adjacent to Cowboy (all of them demolished since then), there used to be a popular BJ bar with curtains to segregate mongers from each other. I remember mistaking then, on my one and only visit there, that the curtains were meant to conceal your benefactor from view while you stuck it out, as it were, in solitary confinement. Pity they demolished little heavens such as these. That place, with a bare minimal modification of its floor plan and its curtains, could have fulfilled Erik's quest.

That was Lolitas.......... which was then a branch of Alley Cats.
When the demolition squad moved in, Lolita girls moved back to Alley cats in Soi 8 and Alley Cats changed its name to Lolitas.
Yes, I too have fond memories of early mornng bjs there.
