Went to Country Road Bar 4 or 5 times while I was in Bkk. 3 flights up - not sure if I would have found it on my own as the 2nd floor was completely empty. I thought this was a nice chill place to hangout. Pool tables appeared to be in decent shape.
A few stunners working here, but also a few undesirables. Ate here twice, both times fairly bad imo. I like the view the place offers as it has nice big windows. One afternoon started to really pour and it was nice to be in such a comfortable environment looking out seeing everyone run for cover.
The staff (besides the pool playing birds) were also really nice to me and made an effort to chat with me. Easy place to go to as it's right there by Asoke BTS.
Also went to Flyers on Suk 22 - but only went once and stayed downstairs so can't comment on it as much. Seemed like a relaxing place to spend an hour. The food was better here than Country Bar.

Quite a few changes in Bkk.'s pool scene since the last post: Ball in Hand Times Square had to close due to a fire. Sports Academy lost their beautiful premises next to BTS Asoke station, but re-opened in good style on the second floor, right above Thermae! Red Parrot, the huge pool bar on Patpong, closed last year, along with the whole building at the Surawong end of Patpong, but I hear the tables remain and it might open again(?)
No fewer than three new pool bars opened on Sukh. soi 13, all in the same area, Trendy Condo building.
And last evening I discovered a new pool bar on Patpong Two, in an obscure location without much signage outside. It's where Sisters (take two) bar was, up on the fourth floor above Park Bridge, opposite Foodland and next to Siam Drug. Five good tables, busy on a Friday night, sign-up boards to challenge at all tables, friendly manager Baruch, and happy hour prices during October.

I second that, very nice anbience. They have three 7-foot tables upstairs, good for a bit of fun. Hostesses are barfineable - 900 B if you like. Credit cards accepted.

After it just opened, we visited that place a couple of times.
Most hostesses were not quite 'hotesses', ridiculous barfine for such a place and overpriced drinks.
As a pool place, can't judge it, because I don't play.
Re: Country Road, Soi 5.
An experienced pool player (and a couple of girls) said they have the worst tables available. Not well balanced.

Yes agree about the hostesses but strangely most of them have a very good level of english(well the one s I spoke to did). Drinks are ridiculous but they have a two for one happy hour up till I think 7 pm which makes it worthwhile.
It does seem to be pretty popular.
