I haven't done the math, but when I've called the States from LOS via
the DTAC SIM card in my cell phone, it can't be more than a small fraction of what I pay when calling from the States, via AT&T, to LOS. Next trip I'll make a point of tracking the cost. On the last trip I added 800 Baht, $20.00, to my DTAC SIM card, called the States every day, several minutes for each call, and never use all the credits purchased with that 800 Baht. Just picking up the phone here in the States and calling LOS using AT&T is well over $4.00 a minute as opposed to using one of those MCI calling cards that gets it down to 33 cents a minute. I've tried some other cards that get it down to 10 cent a minute or less, but the line quality is hit and miss to the point you are just wasting your time and money. Here, I just found a phone bill for a call to LOS. AT&T charged $4.18, for a 1, i.e, ONE minute call, but then turned around and charged $1.50 for the "bill statement fee," and 38 cents "universal connectivity charge," and 50 cents in taxes, so a one minute call came to $6.56 US. The one minute was to send a fax, via the home line, to a hotel in BKK.

On phone charges, if we compare the LOWEST cost from Thailand to the USA and viceversa, USA is lowest. But if we look at specific pairings you can find many combinations where calling from Thailand to the USA is cheaper.
Many girls in LOS have phony tits. As to saying they are "obviously' phony tits, it depends how one can define 'obvious.' Of course, most katoeys over do it and those become quite obvious.

By the way she still has a room in the back alley at the end of Soi Nana (on the left side, the one you can use to drive back on sukhumvit). Her Motorbike is still there so she should not be too far a way !
