hello
I am looking for a karaoke that is not too expensive with songs in english and vip rooms(private rooms). That is: not a karaoke with girls (I am now with my GF), not in big hotels or not a japanese place that are too expensive. Within reach of sukumvit soi 24, by taxi or skytrain. Astonishingly, it does not seem easy to find. Can anyone help me

I don't know about Bkk, but there are loads of those tyoe of places here in Chonburi. Would gladly give you names and directions if you would like. (Chonburi is about 1 hour south of Bkk).

I remember going through Chonburi on the way to Pattaya. Can you catch a bus for Chonburi direct from Ekkamai? If so, I may want to do this next week as a day trip.

I am not familiar with the location that you stated, but just about all busses stop in Chonburi. PM me if you would like more information or if you would like to get together. I am a working man, so I can only drink on the weekends.

There's a place called the Big Echo on Wireless road. All the karaoke rooms are private rooms. No girls, you have to bring your own.
The smallest room fits only 2 people, and I believe it's 300 baht for 2 hours. When you walk in, they have a big meun sign (like the ones you see when you walk into McDonald's) with all the room size and prices.

Thanks MIT, the place was fine.
I had the same problem in pattaya and found a way to solve it. Chinese love karaoke, so I asked in a chinese thai shop and they indicated me a place called new star, 500 bt for one room untill closing time (I think it's 2 am). But drinks expensive (150bt), anyway, as usual I brought my own bottle of wiskey in a bag ....
So my advice to other karaoke addicts : if you don't know where to go, ask in chinese shops or restaurants...

You also try Novotel's Sensations. You can book private rooms (from 1,000B onwards) or just sit in the main area and sing in front of the rest of the group. After the singing session you can always go out to CM2 area and hunt.

I think its kinda stupid for me to visit a karaoke since I will be travelling alone. Better get some chicks to accompany me there. By the way, I have just got a email reply from someone in the classified section which promise young Uni TG as escorts. Wondering if its a Hoax or some scam
