Here is the other type of "you know you're back in LOS" experience.

QQ, I wouldn't agree that a girl in a go go who sits with me for the duration of her one drink gets a tip on top of that. Not unless there was some play involved (touching her boobs, kissing, her rubbing my cock and ego). No play, no pay.
TD's example though, I agree, is rare enough that I don't associate it with LOS, but it happens, more so in some bars than others. If a place is too mercenary, along those lines, I will generally not stay long or return. But you can't really blame them for wanting to cut to the chase. Too many punters are real time wasters.
I think TD's other experience is much more the norm, and it always takes me a few beats to get back into that way of thinking. The girl who tells me she's on her period, but I can take her friend tonight instead, and come back for her in three days. The girl who makes eyes at me over the shoulder of her molesting BF of the evening. The girl who acts like I am her long lost lover when I BF her a second time.
