I have had friends stay there and say it was ok. Great location. I heard the owner just took over the daily operations of Tailife so maybe there is a discount of some kind involved with that - not sure. If that area interests you, I can personally recommend the Summer Breeze Hotel, which is almost directly across the street. The staff is great and the rooms are good. I like the Summer Suites.

What is the area like? I just saw it was close to Tiger Entertainment which ibangla which is where I am told the action is...Does Summer Breeze have a website?

Rooms are very clean and very nice. Very "homey."

Area is lively and steps away from Bangla. The Yorkshire is located on Soi Sansabai, which is filled with lots of little hotels and restaurants. And yes, Tiger is close-by... there's also Taipan and Baya right on the corner. Around 4am, you can see the after-hours crowd pour down this soi on their way home after a long night. Motorbikes in all directions, girls left and right with their companions, late night eats, etc... It's kind of like the Nana shuffle. It's pretty fun staying on this soi.

If you end up choosing the Summer Breeze, I recommend asking for a room on the lowest floor possible. They don't have an elevator.

Just an update - a place I always stay is just up the road from the Yorkshire Inn, Orchid Residence which is quite nice... The main things I like about staying in San Sabai are close proximity to Bangla and the beach (about a 5 minute walk) and the quiet at night time - except for that time when some wanker tourist thought it cool to ride his motor bike up and down the road all night long... Several empty bottles thrown at him from up high and two direct hits soon changed his mind about that...

The Yorkshire Inn has just had a complete renovation, very nice now & serves great Western Food if your missing "home" cooked meals!
