It's very simple. If nothing is said, there is nothing to be learned. If we know that they are pathological liars, then inverting their statements would reveal the truth. So, if they say that there are no terrorists and that Thailand is not being targeted, we know the truth.

So you want the story from the Thais view?
Well....
The Thais who pride themselves on 'hospitality' are deeply hurt because of the wild allegations that tourists coming to Thailand would be under threat from foreign nationals.
They did not complain when warnings were posted during the riots and airport occupation.... nor did they object too loudly when advisories were posted due to floods. Really they have no control over those issues.
But with all the damage that both God and themselves have done to the tourist industry they are not going to stand still and have it further depressed by Foreign Nationals.
So first they hunt down the Foreign Nationals in question to prove that they have the situation well in hand. Alas after catching one Foreign National the rest 'went to ground' and they can't find them...
....yeah....
Then they contemplate their next move.... they simply can not have Foreign Nationals damaging a key vertical in their economy. Now if the rest of the countries would lift their warnings all would be fine but those damn Farangs do not understand the tough situation the Thais are in so they are not cooperating.
....yeah....
But hell.... Mossed and the CIA are certainly on the case aren't they.... also they have an Interpol Red Notice out on the other Foreign Nationals.... and with the materials safe in the hands of the Royal Thai Police there should be no chance that any bomb will be built and set off in Thailand now.
....yeah, that's it....
Sooooo..... let's concoct a story on how the material was intended for export to the Middle East and insist that the real threat is not in Thailand but elsewhere.... then the Farangs will have to lift the warnings on travel and the tourist industry will be back on track for Songkran.
....yeah...
And if the other Foreign Nationals should be caught it will not be a problem because we will just tell everyone that we were right in the first place and that Thailand is safe for tourists....
....yeah, thats the ticket...

Counter Terrorism Bureau: Safe to visit Thailand

Agency cites work of Thai security forces, including the arrest of alleged Hezbollah operative in lowering travel warning.
Thailand is once again safe for Israeli travelers, at least according to the National Security Council's Counter Terrorism Bureau.
The Bureau released a statement Thursday saying a previous "severe travel warning" issued two weeks ago over the likelihood of an immediate attack against Israelis in Bangkok has been canceled because of the work of the Thai security forces that included the arrest of an alleged Hezbollah operative there, and the uncovering of a Hezbollah weapons storehouse –and other Hezbollah facilities -- in the country.
At the same time, the statement said, because of the possibility that there remains some terrorist infrastructure in Thailand, and in light of concern that Hezbollah will try to avenge the 2008 killing of Hezbollah's shadowy commander Imad Muganiyah on the anniversary of his death on February 12, Israelis traveling to the country are advised to exercise caution.

... okay... the Israeli National Security Council's Counter Terrorism Bureau... these guys, I trust... the Thais?... they simply cannot be trusted to make a reliable risk assessment.
... ashamed that Thai credibity is so bankrupt that their own security situations have to be cleared by foreign security agencies before anyone will believe them.
... I think the rest of the world will now listen, and Thailand may again continue hosting tourists.

Four countries withdraw warnings
=========================
Four countries, including Israel, have withdrawn their travel advisories warning their citizens of possible terrorist attacks in Bangkok, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said.
Jesda Katavetin, deputy director general of the ministry's Information Department, said Israel, China, France and Germany had withdrawn their advisories, though France and Germany are still warning travellers of possible attacks in the deep South.
Eighteen countries, starting with the United States, issued warnings against visiting Bangkok when a Lebanese terror suspect was arrested at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
Jesda said the advisory withdrawal by Israel, which was one of the first countries to issue a warning, would result in others following suit. He also noted that though the US Embassy in Bangkok had retained the advisory on its website, the warning no longer appeared on the website of the US State Department.
"There is no advice against US citizens coming to Thailand," he said.
The spokesman said Beijing had withdrawn its warning on January 20 after Foreign Minister Surapong Towichukchaikul met with the Chinese ambassador.

Bomb attack in Bangkok, one hurt
=========================
A bomb exploded in front of a school on Sukhumvit road on Tuesday afternoon, wounding a foreigner and damaging a telephone booth.
Klongton Police said the explosion took place around 2pm outside Kasempithaya School. The injured foreigner lost both of his legs in the blast.
Witnesses told investigators that an unidentified man hurled a bomb into a phone booth and then fled.
Police were investigating and had temporarily closed down Klong Ton and Phra Khanong intersections.
