sad to hear about Beretta, he always came across as decent guy but for the life of me I can't believe the story jingjo recounted here. It seems too far fetched, I can't comprehend how one would ruin himself over a woman, Thai or otherwise. Here you got me agreeing with DG Sarge, you do owe jingjo an apology.
I did not witness Beretta's story personally but I have in my years counseled several mates on that issue and unless they open their minds and find balance in their lives they either end up dying in a bottle or eating the wrong end of a gun.
I was fortunate that in my case I had a personal epiphany, found balance, left the woman, and opened the door for both of us to rebuild our lives.... not only were we better for it so were our children.
So Sarge, put it in your head that not all men are MCPs who can use a woman and abandon them when things get rough.... many of us try to work the situation out for love and family. The secret though is to know when the situation can no longer be worked out and when it is time to 'pull the ripcord'...

Wise words and it can happen to the best of us. Im totally immune to the hookers I f*** but fool I am fell in love with a bar owner in pattaya last trip. These things happen its just how you deal with them that counts. We never had sex so I had no brick wall line of defence add in a rocky marriage and bingo im f***ed. So we exchanged details and started msn and phoning when I got back and I am like a love sick puppy yuck .
But it quickly started going downhill with her problems ' its all about the money ' at first I gave her the benefit of the doubt the bar was empty she could be telling the truth. But this week after telling me she was in Phuket and no money to get home and this was the last time.2 days later when she said she was in hospital and needed an operation I was actually relieved to know it was time to pull the rip cord. Actually I fell about pissing myself with laughter. I told her at the beginning not to play around with me but these women are very short sighted.
I told her she was bullshitting me and anyway there was no money to be had her tune changed from sweet to firecracker ' do what you want bye ', bye too baby and game over.
Im now at a point of getting balance which means f***ing some bit of arse tonight. I knew from the off deep down really but just wanted to be sure. It was hilarious the few weeks she must think im simple or something.
Many are I had to use all of what I know to resist and
you almost feel you must help her until you slap your head and wake up, some dont we have mates here one met a women in pattaya first day first trip never f***ed her he is still sending her money and he is 70 and cannot stop work as he has no money. Sad of course its sad life can be sometimes
Anyway f*** that I m off for a  or 2 and sex plenty more in the sea 2 million last count none are special just keep on f***ing. I think I stay away from that soi for a while though Im not so popular falang calling her bluf at her own games.

However in justifying your point about weak men saying that not all are macho yada yada yada.... like if there was nothing in between, you are taking extremes and embarrassing yourself with that flawed logic. Whilst is true there some basket cases out there, the majority of people are level headed and would have put an end to a situation as described by jingjo. Especially if you have the home advantage and your family is advising you the correct course of action. There must have been underlying issue like heavy drinking and other personal problems. Now I don't know the guy and I feel sorry if he passed away, he always came across as nice chap. What is unclear to me, is if jingjo has read the situation correctly when chatting with him over skype, after 20 cans of VB reality gets distorted
