I thought the British Embassy supplied sworn affidavits for about 3,000 baht. Could be wrong. Maybe it is different if only for getting married and not something to be used in a court of law.

If one wants to marry a divorcee, get her to hunt down her ex husband or husbands and have the divorce formally legalized, if she hasn't done so already else the hunting part will prove troublesome I believe.
Afterwhich, the divorce has to be in effect for X number of months before she can remarry else she gotta have a doctor's letter certifying pregnancy (and hopefully you're the dad)
As for what X is, not sure about the details.
There might also be extra documents required if she has kids in tow, maybe birth certs etc. Always worth a check if these scenarios are applicable to avoid multiple trips which is what these consulate offices in Thailand are quite used to.

My problem is off the topic, yet somewhat related.
I have been seperated for almost 2 years, and plan to file for divorce, I have no clue how to go about it.
the good thing is, we dont have any assets in joint names, and no liabilities.. (no kids either)
My thai mates think of this as a light matter-- ''find a mia noi'' is the common refrain, well may be for them but being a foreigner, I dont want to mess things up, and want to go about it properly and legally.
any suggestion will be of great help. If someone could suggest a divorce lawyer -- well, that fella gets a treat in a place of his choice.

What is the procedure for getting married to a Thai divorcee with kids ?
What are the documernts required, documents/marriage fees and time taken to formalise the marriage ?
Do we have to put up a notice at least 1 or 2 weeks in advance for any objection(s) to the proposed marraige ?
