They're less likely to have meaningful lengthy interactions with any westerners and many like it that way. In fact, that's why some of them choose it - because a customer's usually in and out in 5 or 10 minutes and the girl doesn't have to think about him anymore. Next please! Many have their own boyfriends, husbands, families and I'd argue that perhaps they become more hardened, more conditioned, more jaded, more quickly than girls in lower volume places.
Having said all that, I know at least one charming Afterskool girl...
Well, everyone has different experiences in Thailand, that's one of the great things about it...something for everyone! I have made lots of connections with girls in such bars, though...and some long-lasting friendships, too. I should perhaps add that I speak all 3 major BKK bargirl languages pretty close to fluently, and I've never spoken to any bar girl in English, so that can definitely make a difference...

That would certainly make a difference, although I find it easy enough to converse with them in english accompanied with sign language. I do have to tone down my vocabulary and it is fun trying to teach them to pronounce the words properly. Ever tried to make them say 'room' and 'fish' properly? The best you will get is a 'loom' and a 'fith'. And let me add that most of them have goldfish memory when it comes to english...

Yes, speaking their language has been a great door-opener for me.
May as well report that I'd finally gotten back to Boo, who was new some months back and whom I'd enjoyed on her first day as her first customer. That was an experience I don't want to write too much about here (I may have already earlier) as it was a tedious and long first session. Nonetheless, I am extremely happy to report that she is by now very well up to standard in all skills, in addition to her charming demeanor. She also has a nice little hum that vibrates you when you're in her mouth; I like that.
It reminds me of my first time on Koh Kong in a roadhouse years back... Vietnamese young ladies... It was a cheap price... My first girl of the evening there was managing to hold a conversation, being similarly shall we say with "her mouth totally full", with the girl on the other side of the "wall" in the next shanty little room; on the one hand it was distracting, on the other intriguing.
And that girl, too, like Miss Boo was a little chubby with very fair skin. Her fair skin in SOL (fairer even than her cousin's Miss Fish) is a nice change in SOL, for those who like visual variety, which may be everyone. I am only saddened during each visit that I cannot allow each and every one of them to service me every time.

I don't speak to bj bargirls in English either - though my Thai's not close to fluent. It doesn't matter. Because you still met them in the bar, right? That will frame their perception of you. You'll always be a customer, not part of their real life, however well you speak Thai, eat som tam, etc. Even if you met them outside and are close to their age, etc, their other perception will inevitably be that farangs are p4p creatures, because that's their overwhelming experience. Thais, on the other hand, to them, are real people... I think it's drummed in even faster and harder in bj bars than other bars simply because of the number of customers and nature of the customers being (mostly) in and out quickly. Whereas a beer-bar girl will usually get to know you, be barfined, go out of the bar, experience the farang outside, etc... It's my experience that bj bar girls are far more 'Thai'.

They seem more normal to me.
Certainly they have defenses, and those defenses may in part rely on cultural differences. That's normal given the circumstances of their work. But I feel that they have gone far out of normal Isaan/Northern/etc society to a certain degree--or perhaps have gone far into the heart of it, from another point of view. Either way, I have found that not all but many of the girls here (SOL) to be extraordinary individuals, in comfort with me far and above the simple and insulated lives of most girls in Siam. I'm not saying they can read Shakespeare, of course; just talking about their way of encountering life itself.
However, jibblies, I do not intend to argue with you, merely to express a different perspective, if I have done so.

well the deed was done.
Spent a superb couple of hours on Thursday with 2 eager and really nice girls.
The one that followed me in was quite chunky but so nice, was joined by Ms Rut who was also very accomodating.
Had a nice 3 some on the coach. Rut expertly using her oral skills and finger control whilst I insisted the other girl chuckwow along side us.
I can see how addicitve this place could get.
1750 baht brought me 2 entertainers, plus 3 LD's and 3 or 4 singhas plus one marriage proposal from one of em.

congrats on your successful mission 38mansion. But I am not able to figure out the amount you mentioned. Two girls for oral services would be 1400 (700x2), while the remaining 350 would not be enough for 3 LDs (at 100 each) and 3 or 4 singhas (at 80 each). You bill should have come to 1940 atleast.
I have always received marriage proposal from my favorite girl.

Well, I've tried to be patient with you young man, haha, but you just won't back down...no, it doesn't "not matter". Speaking their language fluently VERY much *matters*. Now I'm gonna have get all linguistic on yo' ass, haha...
When you can speak a local language with girls who are an ethnic and linguistic minority in Thailand, it DOES f***ing matter, a lot. You become their homie.
And you talk about things with them...without going into detail, for fear of censorship/closure of this web forum, llet's just say "you say things about certain Thai institutions and, er, political figures" that, if Thais knew you were saying them, would get you imprisoned or even killed. They are minorities marginalized and despised by the Thais, and they love that you share that "being outside of Thai culture" with them.
When you reach that level of communication, you are their close friend, you are no longer a "customer," (even if you are a customer in terms of cash outlay), and they would do anything for you, and they're your friend--your REAL friend--for life. We're talking something WAY outside of "eating som tam" that you couldn't even fathom.
And I just happen to find a lot of those kinds of girls in what most farangs feel to be "low-end bars," blow-job bars, whatever. Accept it, and deal with it!
