Any place to buy a slab (U.S. uncooked style of corn beef) in Udon Thani or Khon K?? I do know that Big C / Tesco / Carrefour have canned corn beef and also spam, but I like to cook my own corn beef.

Skeeter: Check with Barrafish at JingJo's bar near the Makro Store. Look for the large yellow sign with a kangaroo on it some 500 meters towards town from Makro, on the same side of the highway. He could probably head you in the right direction.

When I am given "beef" up North.... my head tells me it's dog.... (This is in the village - no reflection on Udon or indeed, JingJo's Bar - which I am sure is fine (ish) !!)

Does anyone know where I can get a Reuben sandwich in Bangers? Lately, I've been dreaming about Canter's Deli in North Hollywood, it's one of the few delicacies I really miss.

The upstairs bar at Don Mueng used to serve a Ruben Sandwich. Not even close to Canter's, but I enjoyed it. When it was an International Airport.

Agree with Griffin on Landmark. They also have a really good tuna melt and a chicken with pesto sanguich. Some people even go to the Beer Garden on Soi 7 and bring "take out" from there to the Landy for lunch.

Thanks gents. I'll be looking forward to lunch at the Landmark next weekend. I can taste that succulent corned beef, zesty swiss, and sauerkraut already.

About 10 months to one year ago I would have agreed on the land mark but since then the cheese has taken a strange twist. 1st visit in this time frame the cheese smelt a bit strange, I know I know cheese is glorified off milk but the smell from it was really bad. I sent it back and changed it for a chicken burger. 2nd visit. Me 2 Thai's and 1 Australian ordered food. Two of us ordered the Rubin. One Thai and me. Both of us as soon as we got our sandwich said can you smell ปลาร้า "balar". Fermented rotten fish. We both said yes and opened our sandwich for a closer smell, the aroma came from cheese, it was a disgrace Also the huntsman downstairs at the landmark has gone down hill in the last year or so. From having over priced ok food to super over priced really bad food I thought, “sod it not going there anymore”. Not sure what’s happening there but it is not all that good recently. I seem to like the black swan a lot more. Sorry no Ruben.
